In2it offers tickets to two students to attend PHPBenelux Conference 2017 and is taking a first step in making technical conferences more accessible to students.
Since the the first PHPBenelux Conferences in 2010, in2it has been a sponsor for the event. We believe that supporting local initiatives like this conference will be a good investment for the future. And it has proven to be a success as each year the conference raises the bar for developers and businesses, while maintaining their “community feel”.
We never used our sponsor booth as we saw no value in promoting our business services. Instead we donated this booth to PHPWomen and the many local PHP communities we now have within the Benelux gave the community direct value.
To give you an idea how big PHP thrives in Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg, see the table below.
The PHP community in the BENELUX
This list is only the tip of the iceberg as there are many more initiatives happening within the Benelux, but these ones are the meetups I’m subscribed to and occasionally speak at. If you’re looking for a user group in your area, I suggest you go to Meetup.com and find a meetup in your area where you define the distance you’re willing to travel. A great solution to get in touch with other PHP developers in your area.
PHPBenelux Conference
The annual PHPBenelux Conference is an event happening at the last full weekend of Januari. With 2 days of tutorials and regular sessions, it also hosts epic social events afterwards. Some people remember the fun and pain sustained since last year’s “bumper car” experience.
When you go to PHPBenelux Conference 2017 be sure to talk to some of the representatives of the above mentioned user groups. Especially to figure out how to organise meetups in your own area if there’s not one close by. Become a leader within the community and spread the knowledge locally.
I will also be at the event, being part of the organisation behind PHPBenelux. Each year it’s a challenge to come up with new ideas to format the conference, and time is always working against us. But looking now at what the team has achieved in the past few months, I’m very excited of what’s coming.
See you all at PHPBenelux Conference 2017!
