PHPBenelux Conference 2017
Now the buzz of PHPBenelux Conference 2017 is wearing out, it’s time to note down my experiences at this amazing event.

This community driven conference has grown into an iconic event that balances knowledge, sharing, networking and having fun very well. It’s amazing to see how they top previous editions with clever, new enhancements. No wonder the sell out every single year.

The tutorials during this edition were spicy ingredients that required well rested brains. Some of the subjects given by leaders in their domain were about testing, DDD, CQRS, security and PHP 7.

The sessions themselves were also given by top notch speakers who are true subject masters. Some highly rated talks were Event Sourcing by Michiel Rook, Time Management by Chris Hartjes, Debugging with Derick Rethans, Defensive PHP by Marco Pivetta and the most amazing keynote by Gary Hockin.

The social event was a welcoming change to cool off the overheated brain cells. No bumper cars this edition, but laser tag. If you didn’t want to wait for laser battle, the many fun games the sponsors had brought with them were a good alternative.

Like previous edition, in2it sponsored the “community corner” where people could discover a user group in their region or learn how to start one. When I say community at a PHP conference, I also mean the herds of #elePHPant mascots.

Elephpant

I can only conclude PHPBenelux Conference 2017 was again a big hit. I’m looking forward to next year to be part of this thriving community! See you all again in 2018 at #phpbnl18!
